My name is Phillipa. I am an illustrator from New Zealand. I love to create cute animal and bird illustrations for stationery products. I also love to tell stories through my fantasy art. Here's some of my favourite creations. These illustrations were for greeting cards, with the exception of the pied stilts which were part of calendar. Hello, my name is Phillipa and I am an illustrator from Rolleston, New Zealand. Creating cute illustrations and fantasy art is my passion.My journey began as a child with sketch book and pen. I loved to draw animals in particular. As I got older I tried other mediums like coloured pencils and watercolour. These days, I do a lot of digital art on my iPad. I am a big fan of procreate and art studio pro. These are my go to art programs. I still use my sketchbook though for planning and nature journaling. As wonderful as digital art is there is just something about my sketchbook and pencils that is so satisfying to use. Plus trying to use an iPad outside in the sun doesn't really work!My interest in wildlife and birds in particular inspired me to become a veterinarian. I did this for over a decade before deciding to quit. I went back to school and studied graphic design instead. This is where I was introduced to the wonders of digital art. I loved how you can experiment with all sorts of things and if it doesn't work there is always the undo button!I currently work part time, which gives me the freedom to follow my art passion and create whatever I feel like creating.
